Question:
Regarding the copyright discussion on KOL+FPC: Would it be better if I prepared the kolfpc package to work without the adapted borland units and use the JEDI win32API files instead? You opinion is highly regarded.

yes. free library should use free units. %-)

Well, Borland units are distributed under GPL license so you can use them freely(of course you should keep all it's copyrights). But JEDI has a lot of APIs that Borland haven't

1) What is a license of KOL for FPC? 2) What is a license of JEDI win32api? If the KOL license is more free than GNU (e. g. allows to use this library to create a closed-source software) then that would be better, to use also a mostly free-licensed API library. BTW, maybe, API included into Virtual Pascal package could be also used?
